What is a Fitness Bike
A Fitness Bike is much like a hybrid bike that has been scaled down to a lighter, faster ride. For starters, the frame has geometry much like a road bike, especially when it comes to the wheel base. The wheels are 700c and are narrower than the tires on true hybrids. When riding a traditional road bike, the dropped handlebars situate the rider in a racing position, where you are leaning forward in an aerodynamic position. This can be uncomfortable if you have back or shoulder problems. The Fitness bike design replaces the drop style handlebars with flat or rise bars that are usually found on hybrid bikes, thereby putting the rider in a more upright position, where you can more easily navigate obstacles and traffic situations you may encounter. Fitness bikes are also perfect for commuting. >> Back Home |
